Rue 21 Jobs

Store Associates

These are generally the first people you see when you walk in Rue 21. Their duties include assisting customers, ringing up purchases, and maintaining the cleanliness on the retail floor. Store associates must know how to multitask and must have a friendly attitude towards customers. They also must be willing to work flexible hours, as well as on holidays. Most Rue 21 applications received are for this position.

Customer Service Representatives

Customer service representatives work behind the help desk. There are also customer service positions at the company’s call centers. Their job is to answer customers’ questions concerning orders, store policy, etc.  Customer service representatives who work in store usually do the same tasks as those who work at call centers.

Managers and Assistant Managers

Managers and Assistant Managers are responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the store. Such duties include hiring/firing employees, training, handling conflicts between employees, helping customers, preparing payroll and time sheets for employees’ payments, etc. Managers need to be assertive, know how to supervise others in a respectful manner, and be skilled in performing tasks to keep the store running. If you don’t have previous managerial or retail experience, avoid applying for it, as there are hefty requirements.

Rue 21 Models

If you are a model or an aspiring model, consider modeling for Rue 21. As a model your face will appear in Rue 21 catalogs, brochures and TV commercials. If you are interested, you’ll need to create a portfolio of your most exciting and diverse photos and mail them to different modeling agencies for considering. In the meantime you can attend local modeling auditions to gain extra experience. Most of these positions are filled through casting agencies and can’t be applied for through the traditional Rue 21 application.

Night Stock

At some Rue 21 locations, night stock workers are needed. Their duties include stocking merchandise during evening hours to prepare for the next day. They are also responsible for removing old inventory and replacing it with new inventory. Night stock workers also clean up around the store before closing time. Fill this position in on your Rue 21 application if you desire “behind the scenes” work.

Jewelry and Beauty Associates

Not all Rue 21 stores have these departments. Jewelry associates put up new jewelry and place price tags on them. They also assist customers in choosing jewelry pieces. Beauty associates answer questions about makeup and cosmetics. They also assist customers in trying on makeup to see what suits them.

In closing, there are many jobs available at Rue21. If you have the passion and desire to work in retail they most definitely have a position for you.
